It's finally finished! Well, almost! I still have to make the label. My first finish of 2011 is called "Dianne's Jeweled Leaves". I started it as a "plane" project this past summer when we flew to Portland, OR and Vancouver and Victoria, BC.
I used different "beige" fabrics for the 12" blocks and was excited to use scraps of fabric for the leaves. Of, course, it didn't even make a dent in my scrap bin. LOL! I am very happy with the way it turned out. I even made my own quilting template design! The original pattern is called "Noel" from Mc Call's Quilting Magazine (Dec. 2001)
The quilt is going to a special person in our DD's life (and ours!). Dianne has been a "second" mother and good friend to our DD. She has also opened up her home and heart to us when we are in "her neck of the woods!" This is a big "THANK YOU! to you, Dianne. It will be in the mail soon!

What a beautiful quilt!
Peggy,
I am so glad you commented on my EQ Dozen design ... I found my way to this quilt! I fell in love with String of Beads design many years ago, but have rarely seen one made up ... other than my own! (And another of my own which is a slow work in progress!)
