Design Wall Monday - Celtic Solstice

This will be my first time linking to Judy's site.  I really want to FOCUS on doing that every week.  It may MAKE me write a blog post.  LOL!   Really, as much as I love to read what everyone else writes, I haven't gotten in the habit of posting on a regular basis myself!   I hope to change that in 2014!  Stay tuned!!

I, like a lot of quilters out there, have been working on Bonnie Hunters' mystery quilt called Celtic Solstice. I only changed one color this year, her blue is my purple.

I was about 2 weeks late in getting started, but I caught up fast!

My first block all put together. Lookin' good!!

I hope to get most of it put together this week.

Oops, sorry for the blurry pic.  Will have to retake it!!  The blocks  aren't  sewn together yet, just hanging on the design wall. I really didn't plan on making Bonnie's mystery quilt this year, but am so glad I did! This was my second year and I am hooked!

It's a New Year!

I've been giving this a lot of thought and my word for the New Year  will be FOCUS.

I will need to FOCUS on quite a few things this coming year.  Hubby and I are planning a move from New Orleans (where we have lived for 38 years) to Texas!  So cleaning out, downsizing and packing will be a big FOCUS for me.

Next, will be a couple of quilts that I MUST finish in the next 2 months.  They are just flimsies right now, but hopefully by next week, one will be all sandwiched and ready to machine quilt.  I'll share pics then.

Another thing I want to FOCUS on is this blog.  I plan to update my years in quilting tabs and hope to write a post at least a few times a week.  I know I have things to say, but I just don't put it out there!

Hopefully 2014 is my year to really FOCUS on things I want and need to do.

I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year!

I've been sewing for..........

51 years and I do this?

I stitched all 4 pieces with one right side and one wrong side together instead of "right sides" together!! But in the end, I did get it right and got it finished!!

This "Little Wallet" goes together sew fast! I did make one change to the pattern by adding another section 2 and stitching in from each side ( leaving the middle open) and it will be able to hold coins!!

The pattern uses a snap, but I rather have Velcro! I made 2 of these yesterday in 30 minutes or less!!

Baby Quilt Given Awhile Back

I made this baby quilt earlier this year and forgot to post it. So simple and fun to make.

I just did free motion straight line stitching.

I don't like to make the same quilt over and over, but I may be making more of these!

Sew till next time!
