I am done with my blues for the month. Not to say I DON'T have any more blues, just that after making my 26 blocks, I have to move on to other projects!!
I made the Blue Flower block this week. Connie, at Freemotion by the River, has the free pattern and tutorial. I thought about making 2 per month, but decided one was good!! I hand appliqued the flower and am happy with the way it turned out. I will change the flowers a bit in each block that I make.
Each block is 4 sections and it is paper pieced.
I tried to print out the patterns using telephone book pages. Please, don"t try this at home!! What a mess!! I got crumpled paper with ink ALL over!! I had a super large tablet of blank newspaper paper, so I cut those down to use. And I also used some artist tracing paper. Love that stuff. So easy to tear off.
Oh, and I'm not done yet!! I made this for my nephew's truck for his birthday.

Wow! What lovely projects you have! (Sorry if that sounds like the big bad wolf). I know what you mean about having to put blinders on, though. My list of RSC ideas was bigger than my scrap bins! You made lots of lovely things this week, but I especially love your string blocks!
I should say that you had a productive week!! Nice work on using all of those lovely BLUE scraps. I need to make one of those trash thingies for my car. Thanks for the link!
Wish I liked paper piecing. Yes, those stars are the cutest. I've eyed that Thirties Thing before for scraps/strings. Yours turned out great. That trash bag thing is really a fun idea. I know a couple of guys with trucks who would love that fish fabric...Hmmmm....

LOVE your blue RSC block projects this year. I totally understand what you are saying as I go overboard with this challenge. I want to try most every idea I see. I LOVE seeing what others sew each week. Happily I can say that I have made several RSC colorful, happy quilts for my home, my family and for charity. As long as I'm using scraps and stash it's a win win : )
