More Purple This Week

Well, to start off, my jury duty was all of 60 minutes! Didn't get picked, so I was released and I went home and sewed for the rest of the day. I was glad I didn't have to go back because the weather turned out really nasty. We ended up losing electricity for 6 hrs on Wednesday. I was by myself, so it was really boring. It was too dark to do any kind of handwork, so I felt it was a wasted 6 hrs. But I did make a little progress on my Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) blocks this week.
I made my 12 Scrappy Strings for the month. Love all the purples! And I am so happy to be making at least a small dent in my strings!

Next I worked on more Rainbow Twist. Need to get these all done, so I can put this quilt together by the summer!! So here are my orange blocks, one in brights and one in burnt orange.
And here are the yellows. One is golden and the other in brights.
I also made 2 Potholders, but didn't take a pic yet.
I am posting this at SoScrappy. Can't wait to see all the other Purple blocks that have been made this week!
............Sew till next time...........

I kept looking at your purples, so like mine but different too. It's just so fun to see all the things one can make with strings! My grandmother made something called the sidewalks of NY with strings and it's just wonderful. The oranges sing, just belt out some broadway tune!

I love your purple strings! I wish I could get my purples to look purple when I photograph them, like yours. Mine either look blue or kind of muddy!

Can't decide which excite me more, your rainbow twists or the string blocks. Very well done.

Gorgeous string blocks! I really, really, really want to do those but need to find a suitable foundation (we don’t get phone books). I wonder if tissue paper would work? Anyway, I am still in love with that Rainbow Twist pattern. Great work this week!

The selvages just pop in your blocks. Love the added zing they add to the blocks.

I always love scraps for string blocks. I have only been picked for jury duty once and it was the most boring case ever about the construction of a house that lasted a week. I hate hearing the word Tyvek to this day!

I love your blocks. The only time I was called in for jury duty, I was pregnant and there was no way I could have handled the case they were choosing for. I'm so relieved they released me.

You needed a hand crank, and a battery operated light. Nice blocks.
