I was a bad blogger last year. I started AND finished so many projects and never wrote a word about them. So now, I will be playing catch-up!!
I'm sure many, or all, of you have heard about the Row By Row Experience that was going on last year, from June to Sept., nationwide and in Canada. I won't go into detail, but but you can check it out here. It was a lot of fun collecting row patterns and some kits. I went to a lot of shops and I wanted to support each and every one that I stopped in to. So if I bought the kit, I TRIED not to purchase anything else, but if I wanted just the pattern, I bought a couple of fat quarters and maybe a notion or 1 yd of fabric. Well, that was my thought process until I got into the shops!! I ended up with way more fabric than I planned!! I just wanted to help do my part in keeping them in business!!
Anyway, my daughter, the teacher (not a quilter) went into shops also and got some rows and kits for me to make for her!! She wanted each row made into a separate quilted wall hanging. I finished the first one in November!! It is a row from Portland, Oregon! You'll be able to read the info I put on the label. I started this while on a 3 week trip to Lancaster, PA. I brought "Peachy" with me and she was a hit with the hotels cleaning ladies!!
Almost done! The trees are paper pieced.
It's a finished wall hanging! This was made from a kit.
I made a strip pieced back with a corner label and hanging sleeve.
Here is a closeup of the label.
That's one row down and I didn't count how many to go!!! All the patterns and kits are in a 12"x12"x4" box. And it is full!! I do have 2 more almost finished and will be posting them when done.
Did you catch the Row by row fever last summer? If so, did you make a quilt from them? I would love to see yours!

......the RSC (Rainbow Scrap Challenge) 2016 at SoScrappy. I have wanted to do this for at least 4 years, but never followed thru. I've seen so many beautiful quilts come out of that challenge, so it was time for me to jump in with both feet!!!
I started looking for blocks in Dec and had to whittle the 10 I found, down to 3!!!
My first choice was to make String/Selvedge blocks. This is what I have to work with! This closet is in our office and half of it is filled with my fabric overload!
These bins are STUFFED with strings and selvedges! I wash EVERY piece of fabric and cut off the selvedges before it goes in my sewing room!! I have got to get these bins under control because I refuse to get rid of them!!! For the last 3 years I have been making a Selvedge quilt to donate to my daughter's school (she's a teacher in Hillsboro, OR) for their Outdoor School Program and it has not made a dent in these bins. But I keep trying!
So this week I made 12 blue blocks. And I only took a pic of 4! Oh, well, I'll show them all off next time! These are 8" unfinished and I am using my favorite paper----old phone book pages!! Thanks Bonnie Hunter!!
The next block I found on At the Corner of Scrap and Quilts. I still don't know the name of it. If anyone knows, please enlighten me! I drew it up on EQ7 and I am making 9" blocks. Made 6 of these blue beauties this week. I just love this block. Be sure to check out Chantal's blog. She just put her quilt together and it is amazing!!
Here are my blocks for January.
The last block I have chosen to do this year is from Connie at Freemotion by the River, her Flower Block. I haven't started that one yet, so hopefully will get it done by the end of the month. I plan on making only one a month, but I may change it to 2. My total blocks now are at 19 a month, so what's one more!!! I told you I jumped in on this challenge with both feet!!
I am linking to SoScrappy. Take a few minutes to check out the other blogs and you might get hooked too!

I LOVE this quilt. And it's made entirely from my stash!
Thanks to Bonnie Hunter for another great mystery! I don't know how she does all that she does and still finds time to do this mystery for her blog followers. She is a powerhouse!

.........PRODUCTIVE. One week into the new year and it just came to me. I was just reviewing my planner and found that I only worked on Allietare, Bonnie Hunter's Winter Mystery, despite making a list of the other things I wanted to get done this week. I will continue on Allietare today, but tomorrow I will start on a small sewing project. It's a birthday gift and I am already a few days late with it. Plus, I wanted to make 3 different blocks for the RSC 2016 and start on the 365 Day Challenge!
I will check back next Sunday and let you know how "productive" I have been. Have a great week!

I am very happy with my color choices. I will get the 2 blocks made tomorrow, then start sewing the rows together.

Why can't I get in the habit of posting on a regular basis? I sew at least 5 days a week, therefore I have a lot to show, but I just don't make the time to post. That has got to change this year. The reason for this blog in the first place, is to have a record of what I make!
I have been busy with Bonnie Hunter's Winter Mystery, Allietare. I love this pattern! Here are my first 2 blocks. I changed her red for my purple and her gold for my orangey gold! And my gray is much darker than hers, but hey, it's all from my stash, so I just went with it!! I am sewing the rest of the blocks together today, so hopefully have a completed top in a few days.
I am linking to Freemotion by the River. Check out Connie's site to see more projects.
