I'm in on EASY STREET!

I really tried hard to resist Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt called "Easy Street", but I couldn't, so I'm all in this year! This will be my first mystery quilt and am really looking forward to making it. If I stay on course, this will be my first completed top for 2013! You can check and see how everyone else is doing with this mystery by logging on here http://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/easy-street-mystery.html
I am making this quilt with the help of "Peaches", my featherweight! Love her!

I didn't decide to do this mystery until Monday, partly because I have 4 other quilts that I am working on and need to get done, but I was so bummed out not being able to do the one she posted last year, that I decided I would bite the bullet and do this one! So part 1 is done!

I'm trying to use only my stash, and not having but one small piece of "gray", I decided to use a black with some gray in it. Hard to believe I don't have much gray looking at this stash, right?

LATEST FINISH

This took me less than one month from start to finish!! I was so focused to get it done before Lea went back to school so she could have it for her classroom. Now to get it in the mail!!
This pattern is called Fleur de Lis by Anita Bradshaw. I chose to do the back basting technique which I love and Lea picked out the fabrics on her last trip home. Let me know what you think of it!

I do have something else to post, but need to get it in the mail first and when I know it has been delivered I will post it!

More Pics of Emma's Quilt!

I wanted to show how I always "give" a quilt.  I fold it up and make sure the label is visible.  Then I take grosgrain ribbon and wrap it like a package.

I added a pink and brown bunny and the wooden things you see is the "quilt hanger" that I gave with the quilt.

When unwrapping the quilt the label is the first thing they can read before "opening" the quilt!  This is the first time that I made a corner label and I love it!  So much easier to sew on.
And voila, here's the finished quilt all ready for baby and parents to enjoy!!!  I loved making this one!  My quilting isn't the greatest because I did it all free motion, but I did get better as I went along!
